Lowe's Home Improvement Center
PROJECT
NAME: Lowe's
Home Improvement Center
ARCHITECT: SSOE,
Inc of Bothell Washington
ENGINEERS:
Hickman Williams, Kleinfelder
GENERAL CONTRACTOR: Sierra Construction
DESCRIPTION: This project
stands out due to three factors. 1) Lowe's was one of
Hooker Creek's first excavation and construction projects (and
it was the second largest commercial project in Central Oregon
at the time). 2) The project started in February,
which meant our people were working in the winter.
3) This was a near perfect project on which to implement
our "full-service solution provider" approach. On this
job we provided excavation/site development, asphalt paving,
concrete, a wide variety of building supplies, equipment
rental, aggregates, and trucking.
According to Andy Bley, Senior Project Manager for Sierra Construction, "Through Sierra's extensive bid selection process, it was clear that Hooker Creek was the firm that would work best with Sierra. Hooker Creek did not miss a single milestone and beat our schedule in every aspect."
Lowes is 116,000 square feet of retail sales space and 27,000 square feet of garden supplies. The Bend store represents a $16.5 million investment in the community and the store added 175 new jobs to the area.
