Hooker Creek Announces 2008 Concert Acts
The acts for the 2008 Hooker Creek Community Concert series are definitely going to PACK THE HOUSE!
Hooker Creek is pleased to announce that the acts for the Hooker Creek Community Concert Series at the Deschutes County Fair have been signed!
Kicking off the concert series on Wednesday, July 30th will be the hit country group "Little Big Town". Founded in 1998, the group has been comprised of the same four members since it's inception. Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Roads-Schlapman, Jimi Westbrook and Phillip Sweet have a vocal blend that creates the unique sound of Little Big Town. They are known for their prominent use of vocal harmonies, with all four members alternating as the lead singer. To date Little Big Town has charted eight singles on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs charts. "The Road to Here" received platinum certification in the United States while it's lead off single "Boondocks" received a digital gold certification.
On Thursday, July 31st legendary Rocker Alice Cooper will, quite literally, ROCK THE HOUSE at the Hooker Creek Event Center. Cooper is an American rock singer, songwriter and musician whose career spans five decades! With a stage show that features guillotines, electric chairs, fake blood and boa constrictors, Cooper has drawn inspiration from horror movies, vaudeville, heavy metal and garage rock to create the theatrical brand of rock music that he has become famous for over the years.
The Hooker Creek Community Concert Series end on Friday, August 1 to the sounds of Country music newcomer Kelly Pickler. Just a few short years ago, Kelly Pickler was a small town girl with big dreams, but the hit show American Idol changed all of that. Pickler finished sixth on the fifth season of American Idol and was one of judge Simon Cowell's favorites. Since her American Idol days, Pickler has signed with a major recording label and has had three singles on the US Billboards Hot Country Songs chart and two on the Billboard Hot 100. Her first single "Red High Heels" (which she co-wrote) rose to number one on the charts. Her first album "Small Town Girl" landed at #9 on Billboard Top 200. Pickler has toured with Brad Pailsey and has been nominated for several country music awards.
Tickets for the Hooker Creek Community Concert series will be available as we get closer to the date of the shows......and they are FREE. That is correct, you cannot purchase a ticket to these concerts because they aren't being sold. They will be available through local radio stations KMTK and KTWS and at sponsor locations. More information on how to get tickets to these hot shows will be released at a later date.
